The growing influence of technology on all aspects of society has created a high demand for engineering graduates—not only to enter the professional domains of engineering and technology, but also to bring the strengths of engineering education to related fields such as law, medicine, management, and government. In alignment with its commitment to providing students of the region with global opportunities, the Triguna Sen School of Technology was established at Assam University in 2006.
In a short span of time, Assam University has made its presence felt on the educational map of India. In its relentless pursuit of knowledge, the University has made significant inroads into the unexplored domains of research and higher education. With 42 departments under 16 schools, including the Triguna Sen School of Technology, the University has already become a preferred destination for students from the Eastern region in general, and the North East in particular.
Spread across 600 acres of lush green hilltop, the University campus is home to students from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. It respects cultural plurality and promotes a multicultural approach to human development. The University aspires to develop into a premier academic institution committed to excellence—where initiatives are nurtured, new ideas are welcomed in an atmosphere of constructive criticism, intellectual honesty is upheld, and research is driven by utility and cost-effectiveness.
Though situated in a remote part of the country, the University has never lost sight of the broader national vision and has consistently worked to integrate regional aspirations into the mainstream of the nation.
In keeping with the University’s mission to support regional development, the engineering programs aim to generate skilled human resources capable of delivering cost-effective technical solutions to improve living standards. Acknowledging its vital role in the nation-building process, the University envisions the Triguna Sen School of Technology as a regional knowledge resource centre based on technological innovation.
Assam University aims to be a catalyst in the growth of the North East, contributing actively to the transformation of the nation into a technological superpower by 2030.
