Tuition and other annual fees

* Refundable deposits payable only during the first year of admission. Annual tuition fee is payable in three installments, August, November and January.

Hostel Charges

Hostel accommodation is available on campus subject to Institute rules and hostel allotment policies. B.Tech students are generally provided hostel accommodation on a sharing basis during the first and second years of the programme. From the third year onwards, single-room accommodation may be provided subject to the availability of hostel rooms.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)

The B.Tech. programs at IISc are four-year programs organized into eight semesters, requiring a minimum of 128 credits for the award of the degree. The initial semesters comprise a common foundational curriculum covering mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering sciences, computing, humanities and communication skills. Such projects can also be carried out in industry or other academic institutions subject to fulfilling certain academic requirements.

Students admitted to the B.Tech. programs in Aerospace Engineering and Mathematics and Computing have the opportunity to continue for a fifth year leading to the award of an M. Tech. degree, subject to satisfying the academic eligibility requirements prescribed by the Institute. Students in all four BTech programs have the opportunity to opt for a two-year M. Tech. program in eligible disciplines after their third year subject to fulfilling certain academic requirements.
