Training & Placement

Training and Placement

The Training and Placement Department of VNIT Nagpur aims to provide students
with a platform to apply their technical skills and gain valuable experience by working
in leading industries. It also serves as an interface between the institute and companies
seeking talented graduates and postgraduates across various disciplines. The
department offers essential guidance to students for career planning, skill
enhancement, and personality development.
TRAININGS
The Training and Placement Department conducts rigorous training and assessments
for students appearing for campus placements. These trainings cover key areas such
as programming languages, data structures, algorithms, domain knowledge,
professional English communication, and aptitude. Mock interviews in both HR and
technical domains are organized regularly to help students prepare effectively. In
addition, a series of lectures by corporate leaders are arranged to provide insights into
industry expectations from young engineers. The department also conducts
orientation programs for placements, and career guidance seminars focused on higher
education opportunities in India and abroad, enabling students to make informed
career choices.
INTERNSHIPS
Companies offer summer internships to B. Tech. (2nd and 3rd year) and M. Tech. (1st
year) students, providing them with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on
technologies they learn on campus. Provision for semester-long internships has been
introduced. These internships enhance students’ readiness for professional roles and
often lead to pre-placement offers (PPOs) based on performance.
• Note:
o B. Tech. students can undertake an 8–10 weeks summer internship
o M. Tech. students can opt for a year-long internship during their final
year.

The T&P Department also facilitates applications for internships at PSUs by
arranging NOCs and necessary documentation.
