The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIIT Surat), established in 2017 under the Ministry of Education's Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, stands as a beacon of excellence in technical education. Recognized as an Institute of National Importance, IIIT Surat is a collaborative endeavour involving the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat and industry partners such as Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals (GNFC), Gujarat Gas Ltd. (GGL), and Gujarat Informatics Ltd. (GIL). Since September 2022, the Institute has been operating from its own academic facility on a 28.71-acre campus in Kholvad, Kamrej, Surat.

IIIT Surat offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degrees in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering with specializations in AI-ML and Cyber Security. Additionally, one new B.Tech. program is introduced this year (2026) in Mathematics and Computing. Admissions are based on performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, with seat allocation managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). The institute expanded its academic horizon by introducing the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in 2022 and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) program in 2025.
