_With BTech (CSE) program running successfully for the last four years, the institute is now introducing another program on Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. Thus, IIIT Raichur currently offers following programs:

_Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech)
· Computer Science and Engineering
· Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
_ The 4-year BTech program in the dept. of CSE is concerned with theoretical and practical aspects of computing. Theoretical aspects include algorithms and their analyses, data structures and their uses in software, theory of automata, formal languages and computation. The engineering aspects include various topics in systems such as architectures of computers, programming languages, operating systems, design of databases, computer networks and application software. IIITR is introducing “Semester Internship”, a semester-long internship program as an integral part of curriculum carrying credits along with the regular Summer Internship.
_The approved intake of the program is 80 students in 2023.
_B.Tech. degree in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science is equivalent to a B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering starting in August 2023. This degree will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a rapidly growing field. As businesses and industries worldwide embrace AI and data-driven decision-making, there is an ever-increasing demand for professionals who can develop and implement these technologies.

_In addition, pursuing a B.Tech. in AI and Data Science will give the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects and gain hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies. Students will learn skills like machine learning, natural language processing, data analytics, and more and be able to apply them to real-world problems.

_Finally, pursuing a B.Tech. in AI and Data Science can lead to a number of exciting career opportunities, from working as a data analyst or AI engineer to developing new AI-powered products and services.

_The curriculum for the program is designed to provide an adequate balance of fundamental/foundation, core, and elective courses. The fundamental courses will be focused on two broad areas that are prerequisites for the core courses related to Data Science viz. mathematical foundation like, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics etc. and computer science and engineering like, Data Structure and Algorithms, Computer Network, etc. The core courses related to AI & data science will involve subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Deep Learning etc. The bucket of electives would comprise focused and state of the art courses like Natural language processing, Machine translation, conversational AI, Social Mining etc.

_The approved intake of the program is 60 students in 2023.
_IIIT Raichur has implemented a very novel academic program, referred to as, Fractal Academics – the key idea is to atomize courses, provide breadth and depth, emphasize courses in liberal arts as well as creative arts, emphasize project work, and create an interactive learning ambience. A typical 3 lecture course has 3 credits leading to 42 lecture hours in a semester. Fractional credits can be 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 having 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 lecture hours, respectively.
_The fractal academic program is a novel holistic approach to undergraduate teaching. It has multiple goals among which fostering undergraduate research, interdisciplinary learning and encouraging creativity are the primary ones. In the first year of study, students are introduced right away to a wide gamut of courses not only from the engineering spectrum but also from science and liberal arts. This is aimed at giving the students a flavor of various engineering disciplines in addition to whetting their appetite for the science, creative and liberal arts. In the second year, an in-depth study of the core engineering courses is undertaken. This is designed to firm up the students' foundations in fundamental areas of their chosen branch. In the third year of study, students are encouraged to pick an area of their choice (within their branch) and take relevant elective courses. By the end of the third year, the students are primed to take on challenging research projects. The final year of study is project heavy where students are encouraged to work on research problems. Through the study of liberal and creative arts, it is hoped that students appreciate non-technical disciplines which in turn should help them become better engineers.

IIIT Raichur currently prides itself on having a team of seven esteemed faculty members who have successfully navigated multiple rounds of rigorous recruitment. The forthcoming round of faculty recruitment for IIIT Raichur is currently in progress. The courses offered will be delivered by the dedicated faculty members of IIIT Raichur, with the provision of assistance from IIT Hyderabad, if deemed necessary. Student Life at Institute
The student family of IIITR consists of competitive coders, web-development enthusiasts, eager learners and diligent scholars. They have been actively involved in various technical and cultural club activities of IIIT Raichur. At the same time, the students have founded and set up numerous clubs to further facilitate collaborative learning and introspective growth.
To address the needs of the students related to the regular academic coursework at IIIT Raichur, the library at IIITR contains multiple copies of standard textbooks. The students are actively encouraged to make optimal use of the library by borrowing the required textbooks and reference books from the library to complement their classroom learning in the best possible way. The library at IIIT Raichur currently accommodates at least 30 readers at any given point of time during office hours.
IIITR has a common Dining facility for all its students inside the campus premises. Both north Indian and south Indian varieties are served in the dining hall. Student representatives and faculty in-charges regularly inspect the quality of food.
IIITR also offers an adequate hostel facility with already furnished rooms that are regularly maintained. The hostel facilities at IIITR are very good.
Thus, on an overall note, IIIT Raichur is a wonderful place to explore, learn, and show what you are.
Recreational/Extra Curricular activities
Extracurricular and club activities are integral to a student’s life and are crucial for the student’s all-around/overall development. IIIT Raichur provides a platform for students to organize and participate in different events and clubs. IIIT Raichur has clubs ranging from technical clubs to cultural clubs, which maximizes the participation of students with different interests.
