Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research And Management has been established by the Government of Gujarat as an Autonomous University and has been mandated to bring about significant change in Engineering Education with respect to Technical and Managerial knowledge in the area of Infrastructure. The objective of this Institute is to serve as a Center of excellence in Research and Teaching in all areas pertaining to Infrastructure, and the Institute has a vision of acquiring a status of National importance in Infrastructure and related areas.

Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research And Management offers Bachelor and Master of Technology programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The Institute also offers Ph.D. studies in various fields in Basic Sciences, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences. The medium of instruction is English and the examination is also conducted in English.

Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research And  Management  (IITRAM), situated in the throbbing city of  Ahmedabad in Maninagar  area, is established as a  University under Gujarat State Legislature Act no. 5 of 2013.

IITRAM is governed by the Board of Governors (BoG). BoG  comprises of Chairman, Director General, three ex-officio Secretary from Government of Gujarat, two academicians,  One VC or ex-VC and three experts from different areas.

The Academic Council is the principal academic body of the  University. It consists of the Director General (Chairman of  the council), three academicians, two directors, two Deans  and Faculties of University school.

The Finance Committee consists of the Chairman, one  member of BoG, Director General, Secretory of Gujarat  Finance Department, ex-officio, and one expert in the field of  finance nominated by BoG.

Registrar is the Secretary of the BoG, the Academic Council  as well as the Finance Committee.

The university has one School of Engineering academic unit with offering Four undergraduate B.Tech program in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Engineering streams. The Post Graduate program in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering has been started from academic session 2016-17. The Institute has started Ph. D. programs from the academic session 2016-17.

The institute may permit a student to change from one branch to another after first two semester strictly on the basis of merit of the applicants. It will be maximum 10% to the subject of availability of seats based on merit after first two semesters. 

Only those students will be eligible for consideration for a change of a branch after the second semester, who have 

·      Completed all the credits prescribed in the first two semesters of their studies in their first attempts 

·      Obtained a CPI not lower than 8.0 at the end of semester 2

The Institute also gives chance to Students for EWYL (Earn While You Learn) and Teaching Assistantship under various category. (Subject to requirement and Institute policy). 

In Campus placement season 2023-24, the formal campus placements involving company interviews started in August 2023. The students from Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes in the fields of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical and the students from Masters of Technology (M.Tech) programmes participated in the placement process.

In the year 2023-24, Institute has recorded 100% Placement in companies from Engineering & Technology, Consulting and IT/Software sectors participated in campus placement.
