About the Institute
Mizoram University is a Central University, established in the year 2000. It is Accredited A grade by NAAC recently.
The campus has an area of about 978 acres in the midst of natural beauty and scenic hills near Tanhril village at the western part of the capital city of Aizawl. The University campus is about 15 Km from main Capital City Aizawl.
This School of Engineering and Technology (SET) under Mizoram University was set up in 2007. There are five Departments under this School namely, the Department of Information Technology (IT), Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), Department of Computer Engineering (CE) and Department of Civil Engineering. B. Tech programme in IT and ECE commenced from August 2007 and August, 2008 respectively whereas B. Tech programme in the other two disciplines i.e. Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CE) commenced from August, 2012. The B.Tech programme in Civil Engineering is already running since 2015. All the B.Tech degree programme are approved by
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The B.Arch programme had started since 2015 in the Dept. of Planning and Architecture. The B.Arch programme under Mizoram University is approved by
Council of Architecture (COA)

A student enrolled in B. Tech. Degree program, shall be eligible for change of branch / programme (if seat is available) at the end of part-I (First Year) provided he/she has scored YGPA ≥ 8.0.

Limited Free fee ship facility are available for meritorious and economically poor students. Other scholarship schemes are available as per UGC/MHRD.

Various company like Power Grid Co-operation Limited, Airtel, Wipro, Ganpect, HLL, ABCI Company etc.. are visiting for campus placement. At the same time MZU students also participate in pool campus Placement together with NIT Mizoram, NIT Silchar, NIT Nagaland etc.. For the academic session 2018-19 our student got placement in Power Grid Co-operation Limited, Airtel, Wipro, Ganpect, HLL, ABCI Company etc...
Location and Accessibility
The University campus is about 15 Km from main Capital City Aizawl. The Aizawl city is well connected by road from Silchar/Guwahati; The university is about 40 km from Lengpui Airport (Mizoram), which is well connected by air with major cities like , Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Imphal etc..
