Clubs
In SPAV , there are six cultural clubs and four other committees, which contribute immensely to the vibrant campus. Each committee and Club comprises of two faculty coordinators to look after all the issues regarding the events of that particular club. For each club, the student committee is guided by Secretary, Joint secretary, Coordinators, Co Coordinators and volunteers. All Committees are headed by the cultural coordinator.
The purpose of the each club and committee are as follows:-
1. Rythmo Club
The Music Club is a place where students come to jam, learn and make music of different flavours. The club conducts a variety of activities throughout the year. Rhythmo, the music club has made the college proud by winning national level and zonal level inter-college battle of bands in reknowned fests like NASA and ZONASA. It is one the clubs with maximum number of active members. Musical performances are an integral part of any celebration in the college. The club has an array of different styles and modes of musical expressions to choose from; from resonating choirs to soulful vocals. The music room is equiped with a range of intruments. Senior students,trained in different genres and intruments, make sure that the knowledge is passed on to coming batches through regular interactive jamming sessions.
The literary club organizes and conducts various competitions like debate, extempore speech, essay writing,etc. It also conducts poetry workshops,quizzes and reading group meetings regularly. The editorial board is responsible for the yearly documentation of activities, events ,etc happening in the institute as well providing a platform for young writers and content creators. Each year the Editorial board toils hard to bring all this together and create a annual magazine, named Chhaya. The creation process of Chhaya is a great platform for graphic designers as well.
2. Avante Garde Club
The Fashion Club , where the student participate for the various events, they choreograph and design the costumes themselves and perform for various themes. Every individual has a unique character, an aura and style that sets them out from the rest. In the same way, a person's clothing reflects his personality. Fashion is a language which speaks of the culture, traditions and society that helped bring it to existence. Fashion is an art that has the power to make a statement and bring change. Fashion is confidence. We at Avant Gardé explore the different ways one can represent themselves through fashion, a creative outlet of identity that encourages experimentation and fusion of materials and styles and the creation of unique designs. Because we believe that as architects and planners, every form of expression makes us more creative. The club organises fashion shows in various festivals and college events, apart from lending its creative help into costume-making for various other events. It provides a chance to students to express themselves through the art of fashion, with themes and subjects touching on various topics of society and the design world. There are no boundaries to the self-expression and at Avant Garde, students are encouraged to try it all! Club 29; the dance club is an active student group that thrives to achieve excellence in the field of dance. The danceforms dealt with , by club29, vary from classical Indian dances to hiphop and bollywood. Western danceforms like lyrical hiphop, ballroom dancing,etc.are as well explored. The group members come together to exchange their existing knowledge as well as explore new possibilities . The practice sessions are fun-filled and enriching. Senior students,formally trained in classical dances like Kuchipudi, hold regular classes for interested juniors. Club 29 performs on every formal and informal event that takes place in the college. Members of the club are active participants in various inter-college cultural fests and have bagged quite a few trophies , making the college proud.
3. Monologue Club
The club provides a platform to those who wish to explore the world of Drama, stage performances, Nukkad natak.
The monologue club provides an outlet for people who take interest in theatrics. It stages vivid performances, often combining acting with dance, extempore and many other forms of expression to deliver a powerful interpretation of the theme of the show. Their aim is to leave the audience spellbound, and they definitely excel in it! Rhythm and rhyme combine as a language of expression that is unafraid, bold and meaningful. Every student is an important part of the machinery of this club, which provides an environment to learn about various issues, and perform to express what they feel. The members learn to express emotions and stories that aim to instigate sentiments in the audience. The mind plays a big role here, for the art lies within our imagination. The club also participates in inter-college events.
4. Club-29
This Club helps to bring the varied culture to one single floor of performance. Here in this club western to Indian dance performances are encouraged. The student participate in events and show their Performances like Bharatnatyam, oddishi, Kathak , Bhangra, Bihu (Folk dances ), Break dance, Hip Hop and many others.
5. Ground Zero Club
This Club is a backbone for any kind of event organized in micro or macro level. Student involved in this club are responsible for stage decoration, invitation preparation, Posters and other essential arrangements for any event to conduct. This Club encourages students to work in team irrespective of courses and years.
6. Tasveer Club
This club provides the platform to students who have passion towards the photography. The club members organize the competition time to time for varied event. Photography is not just about capturing photos, it is an art of capturing beautiful moments. Here at Tasveer we capture the spirit of SPAV while working behind the lenses. The world is a beautiful stage where every interaction can be a performance, every moment precious and every object priceless to the eyes of the beholder. The Tasveer club provides an opportunity to students to explore their passion of photography, and take it to the next level. Students are taught to experiment with different styles of photography and their subjects. Landscapes, humans, animals or built forms- the club puts no limit. The Tasveer club organises photography exhibitions, conducts workshops and often collaborate with the other clubs to produce beautiful snapshots of the students; various talents. An important role of the club also lies in documenting every event of the institute in photos and participating in photography events and competitions beyond our institute’s boundaries.
The Tasveer club plays a very important role of conducting an annual photography walk across the city to capture shots of life in Vijayawada, and experience all that it has to offer. Open to all students, it plays an important role in introducing and familiarising new students to SPAV and the city of Vijayawada and help them feel at home in their new place of learning.
7. Literary Club
The Literary club and Editorial board work towards achieving linguistic excellence through creative expressions.The club aims to capture the vibrant life of the campus, by conducting and documenting various events that take place throughout the academic year. The club also encourages young speakers and promotes a healthy prevalent literary dialogue among the students.
Club activities include quizzes, debates, articles, extempore speeches and other literary programmes as a part of festivals and formal events. All events taking place in the institute is also documented by the group. The club provides a platform where students can express themselves through the art of writing, language no bar. It is also a forum for discussion of various subjects, which help students hone their speaking skills and help mould their verbal and writing skills to project their thoughts and expressions to the best of their ability. .
Editorial Board
The editorial board is responsible for the yearly documentation of activities, events ,etc happening in the institute as well providing a platform for young writers and content creators.
Each year the Editorial board toils hard to bring all this together and create an annual magazine, named ‘Chhaya’. The creation process of Chhaya is a great platform for graphic designers as well. It provides a platform for students and faculties to showcase and express themselves. The magazine is a compilation of the events and highlights of the past year, along with artwork, creative writing and academic writing; it’s the face of SPAV.
