Dr. SPM IIIT-Naya Raipur, established by the International Institute of Information Technology University Act, 2013, enacted by the Government of Chhattisgarh, is a joint venture by the Chhattisgarh State Government and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), a central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The institute is committed to pursue excellence in higher education, research and development in Information Technology (IT) and associated disciplines. It firmly believes in bestowing knowledge dissemination and imparting entrepreneurial skills to the students to enable them to address real world problems. IIIT-NR offers three undergraduate programs: B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and B.Tech. in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DSAI). These credit-based programs are designed to foster core skills with innovation and entrepreneurship skills among students. Change of branch shall be made strictly on the basis of merit of the applicants. For this purpose, the merit list will be prepared after the completion of supplementary examinations of the first two semesters and the ties (if any) will be broken by the JEE rank of the applicants.

Recognizing the need for imparting education in all dimensions of learning, the institute has a highly-qualified and motivated team of academicians from Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, English, Management Science and Humanities.

The 50 acres lush green campus of IIIT-NR is enabled with Wi-Fi connectivity, excellent amenities for sports and other recreational activities. The modern architecture of the buildings and the serene environment of the campus fosters an ambience for the students for creativity and innovation. The institute has two state-of-art virtual classrooms. The classrooms and laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for teaching and learning.

Parents and guardians of students are allowed to stay in IIIT-NR guest house at nominal charges subject to availability of rooms and permission from concerned authorities. Rooms are air-conditioned, furnished and provided with attached bathrooms. Guests can avail on-campus dining facilities at nominal charges.

Hostel Facilities: Presently, IIIT-NR has four boys hostels and two girls hostels. Students can access campus network and computing facilities from their hostel rooms through high-speed WiFi. All students are required to stay in the hostel.

Canteen Facilities: The institute has separate dining facilities for boys and girls in their respective hostels. Additionally, it has a centralized canteen that serves snacks, non-veg food, general fast food, juice, and milk products.  Institute mess serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. There is a cafeteria at multi purpose hall. The mess is managed by a committee comprising of students, staff, and faculty.

1. Financial aid to needy students is under active consideration by the Govt of Chhattisgarh. Any student entitled to financial aid approved by the Govt. will get back to a refund from already paid fees.
   
2. Institute will provide a financial Assistantship of up to Rs 5 Lakhs is provided to carry out a summer internship/Major Project (8th Semester) abroad for selected students (as per the institute guidelines).
3. Students are encouraged to undertake research work as part of their minor and major projects. The institute will provide financial assistance up to ₹10,000 per student, a maximum of three times within India, and up to ₹100,000 once for travel abroad during their B.Tech program to present their research work at reputed National/International conferences.
   

Students of IIIT-NR actively participate in self-designed and managed extra-curricular activities. They have created clubs such as robotics, music, drone, coding, hacking, literary, football, cricket, etc. They also organize an annual techno-cultural fest every year.

The fifty-acre, fully residential campus of IIIT-NR is located in the born smart city of Naya Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh. It is approximately 23 Kms. from the city of Raipur and well connected by air, rail and road from various parts of India. AC and Non-AC BRTC bus service are available from Raipur railway station to the institute.
