About the Institute

Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) is a State Government Technical University located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. 

Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) was established by an act (No. 25 of 2004) of legislature passed by the Chhattisgarh State Govt. Assembly vide notification no. 639/21-A/Praroopan/04 dt 21st January 2005 to incorporate a University and Technology for the purpose of ensuring systematic, efficient and quality education in engineering and technological subjects including Architecture and Pharmacy at Research, Post graduate, Degree and Diploma level.

The University since its inception in the year 2005 is striving hard to emerge as one of the nations prominent Universities to fulfill its commitment to the service of state and nation. It was inaugurated on 30th April 2005 by the Hon’ble Prime-Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh. The University without waiting for full fledged infrastructure development started identifying the frontier area of research and development and outreach programmes for the benefit of the society. With this approach several academic programmes, seminars, workshops and conferences have been conducted by the University during past 5 years.

Student Life at Institute

The Institute has a strong Counselling Service to help students settle down comfortably in the new environment and cope with the stresses of student life. Sincere and dedicated student volunteers, helped by faculty advisers, organize the orientation programme for the fresh entrants, provide extra help in course work, if needed, and conduct language classes, etc. The students are involved in all the decision making processes of the Institute via student representatives in various Institute committees.

Recreational/Extra Curricular activities

Literary Club
The very first event of literary Club was organized with full fun and energy on 2_nd July 2022, Saturday. It was great experience to have such an event. Faculties attending the event also appraised it as a very good start. Our Chief guest was our respected director sir Dr. P.K. GHOSH. He blessed and motivated us for doing more such type of events. In this event 23 students participate and recite the poem. The audience also appreciate and cheer the participants. It was a wonderful experience to listen wonderful poems both from the students and faculty members.

Hareli Plantation Programme - 2022

The Chhattisgarh state celebrates its cultivation greenery, gained through several months of perseverance, as Hareli Festival. The name of this festival comes from the Hindi word "Haryali" meaning greenery. This abounds either in the month of July or August (Sawan Amavasya– a holy month for farmers) as the annual monsoon season is in its full swing. It is an agricultural festival celebrated by the many rural farming communities in the state by worshipping their agricultural tools and equipments. Emphasizing its importance, the state government has declared a regional public holiday on Hareli as an initiative to celebrate state’s popular indigenous festival on the grand scale

Raising the cultural awareness of local traditions and importance of natural asset among the youth and the society, the CSVTU Family organized a One Day Hareli Plantation Programme in the university campus on 27th July 2022. The key objective was to indulge all the students and staff members to promote the tree plantation to save the endangered environment and species. The chief dignitaries Dr. Prof. P. K. Ghosh, Director, CSVTU Bhilai, Dr. K.K. Verma, Registrar, CSVTU Bhilai and Mr. Vinay Kumar Karkashe, P.W.D. Department, CSVTU Bhilai, bestowed their significance presence. Additionally, all the UTD faculties and staff members, research scholars along with the students of B.Tech. M. Tech and Diploma courses actively participated in the programme. 

MEME Competition

Concept behind the meme competition is to sensitize students about environmental issuessuch as climate change, global warming, and depletion of fossil fuels and air pollution etc.In this regards, Environment and climate change club of CSVTU had organized memecompetition for students and staff on 2 nd August 2022 and asked them to submit their entriesin the form of JPEG/GIF/Video (10 sec max) in given google link.In this competition 21 students and staff had participated and Review committee haveselected best five entries of them. 

Audio-Video club

Audio-video club organised an instructional lecture, where the students learned about the various equipment used in Audio-visual activities. They also introduced to various aspects of current filmmaking and editing techniques, as well as all tasks associated with generating video segments. The students were also taking keen interest and queries on various issues related to Audio-visual activities.

Cultural event on occasion of 76_th Independence Day celebration

76_th Independence Day (Azaddi ka Amrit Mahatsova) was celebrated at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai with great patriotic fervor and zeal. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. M.K. Verma, accompanied by Registrar, Director, Staff Members and students, Unfurled the tri-colour flag, followed by the National Anthem. Later, a cultural program was also held in the University Teaching Department (UTD). This cultural program was organized by the Sports and Cultural club of UTD. The program began with “Rajkiya Geet” performed by the UG students. Students made speeches, presented patriotic songs, group dance and recited poems. After the cultural program Hon’ble V.C. Chancellor addresses the gathering. In his discourse he shares the glory of our mother land and advises the students how they can be a very integral part and contribute their talent in building India, a strong nation.
