Financial information and fees payable for the B.Tech. Program 2023 at BIT Mesra; Off Campus Patna

 (A) Fee payable at the time of admission and in each subsequent semester for B.Tech. Program

1. All other payments must be made through online payment gateway. For details, please go through the instructions given on the Institute website. [Use net-banking or credit card to make the payment].
2. Students will be expected to provide themselves with stationery and textbooks, etc. as prescribed for different subjects.
3. The Institute reserves the right to revise the fees and other charges at any stage.
4. For rules regarding refund of fees on withdrawal, please see separate Notice on Notice Boards.

B. Eligibility criteria for availing Fee Waiver for candidates admitted in the B.Tech. program:

Note: Above mentioned rules shall be applicable from the date of Admission. Continuation of scholarship beyond first semester shall be based on GPA secured by student as per Institute norms.

Institute follows Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) course structure, which provides opportunity to opt choice-based electives along with the course subject.

There is also provision of completing minor courses of other branch along with the subjects of main branch.

There is a provision for branch change (B.Tech. 2^nd year students (3^rd semester)) subject to availability of seats and considering the following criteria:

1. Maximum 10% of the existing students of any discipline/branch shall be considered to change the discipline/branch purely on performance merit basis.
2. Students who have completed all the examinations of the first two semesters in the first attempt and have minimum CGPA as under, shall be considered for such branch sliding:

a) General Category/EWS/OBC/EBC – 8.0 and above

b) SC/ST Category -  7.0 and above

There are 06 numbers of academic departments (listed below) at BIT Patna with more than 65 highly qualified faculty members involved in education and research.

The Institute is providing different kind of financial assistance / scholarship to the students of various UG and PG programmes, such as:

Total number of 101 recruiters conducted campus drive for BIT Patna students in 2022-23 that has generated 136 numbers of Full Time Employments and 97 numbers of Internship offers across different sectors of the industry. Major recruiters ranging from Analytics and Consulting, Automotive Industry, Core Manufacturing, Fintech & Banking Services, Edutech, Electronics & Semiconductors, IT Product/ Services & Technology, Logistics and Supply Chain, Merchant Navy, Real Estate/ Infrastructure, Retail & E-commerce, Telecom sectors, etc. recruited the students from BIT Patna. A total of 38 companies conducted the campus process at BIT Patna for the first time this year and several meritorious students have received multiple offers.

The B.Tech program of Patna Campus with total batch strength of 247 and a total of 214 eligible students received a total of 136 offers, out of which 69 students have received the annual salary of more than INR 10 Lacs. Considering the percentage placement of eligible B.Tech students, 100% students from Computer Science and Information Technology, 69% from Electronics & Communication, 73% from Electrical Engineering, 44% from Mechanical Engineering and 28% from Civil Engineering got the Campus placement offers from different organizations. The highest CTC offered is INR 44.14 Lacs, lowest CTC offered was INR 3.45 Lacs and the average CTC is 11.74 Lacs per annum for the year 2022-23.

Alumni portal www.alumni.bitmesra.ac.in which was launched in February 2020 have got very good response. This platform offers amazing features that enables alumni to stay connected with their college and friends as well as explore professional opportunities. Presently, the institute has its own data bank of about 40000+ registered alumni in the portal. The portal has become a useful tool for engaging the alumni across the world.

The institute have also registered alumni association in the name of BITMAA (Birla Institute of Technology Mesra Alumni Association) to strengthen the relation and acting as an apex body for alumni engagement and outreach. All the chapters across the globe are having their representations in BITMAA.

Graduates of BIT Patna are holding prestigious positions in public and private sector companies and also carrying key positions in the areas of academics and research both in India as well as abroad. 2. Mr. Saurabh Raj- 2018 pass out student from BE-EEE BIT PATNA has secured All India 34 rank in Engineering Services Exam of UPSC 2020.
3. One student from 2018-22 batch student of B.Tech-CSE BIT Patna has bagged the offer from GOOGLE, with a package of 1.4 crore.
4. One student from 2019-23 batch student of B.Tech-CSE BIT Patna has been selected as research intern by MITACS (in partnership with AICTE) in Dalhousie University CANADA.

The Institute has comprehensive facilities for outdoor sports and games. BIT hosts several extracurricular activities, necessary for overall healthy development of young mind. It has a big play ground, basket ball courts, volleyball courts, lawn tennis courts, badminton courts, well-equipped gymnasiums with modern multi-gym facilities are available. In addition, we have a well-trained coach and guide to support and encourage sports activities for the students.

There are large number of Student Societies and Clubs, which supports students to nurture their hobbies and other creative talents for relaxation and entertainment. These Societies and Clubs include, PRATIBIMB Dramatics & Cultural Society, Megapixel Photographic Club, Students Chapter of IEEE, Literally Club, DIVYA Society for Soft Skills, Robotics Society, SAE Chapter- Automobile, ASME Student Society, IGNITE Technological Society etc.

 BIT PATNA provides the students with many opportunities to demonstrate their talent on a platform much wider than their immediate peer circle in the form of sports events like the INTER COLLEGE SPORTS FEST, ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET and various inter/intra state sports meet.
