About the Institute

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) is India's first and only Central University dedicated to the Transportation and Logistics sector. Established by an Act of Parliament in 2022 and functioning under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, the University was conceived as a pillar of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy.

GSV offers a unique value proposition that spans all four modes of mobility — Rail, Road & Highway, Maritime, and Aviation — through an Innovation-led, Industry-driven model. Academic programmes are interdisciplinary in design, demand-driven in curriculum, and delivered through experiential learning, supported by globally exposed faculty and the state-of-the-art infrastructure.

The fee structure indicated below applies uniformly across all categories (GEN / OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD). The Mess Fee is included in the Hosteller fees and is payable in two semester-wise instalments.

Rules For Change Branch

Change of branch is permitted after completion of the first year, as per the Academic Regulations of the University, subject to the following conditions:

   The student must have cleared all courses of the first year in the first attempt.

   There should be no Unfair Means Case or disciplinary proceeding initiated or pending against the student.

   Change of branch is allowed only against vacant seats in the intended branch, in relation to the sanctioned strength.

GSV Financial Aid is extended to up to 20% of the admitted eligible students (10% under each slab). Selection is based on merit-cum-means — admission merit in the first year and academic performance in subsequent years, together with the annual family income. 20% of the Financial Aid seats are reserved for female students.

In addition to the above, various CSR-funded scholarships from leading PSUs and corporates are available, offering 100% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the B.Tech programme to selected meritorious students based on the admission merit in the first year.

Training & Placement

Placement and career development at GSV are coordinated by the Career Development Cell (CDC), led by a full-time Placement Officer with a faculty Chairman, and supported by a dedicated student committee. The CDC conducts year-round skill-development activities, industry interactions, and campus recruitment drives, and facilitates internships across the transport and logistics ecosystem.

GSV has consistently delivered strong placement outcomes. In Academic Year 2024-25, the overall B.Tech placement stood at 91%. For the ongoing Academic Year 2025-26, B.Tech placements have reached 100%, reflecting the growing industry demand for GSV graduates across the transportation and logistics sector.
