About the Institute

NIELIT Imphal (erstwhile CEDT/CEDTI/DOEACC) became operational in July 1989 with the introduction of Three Years Diploma in Electronics Engineering Course. There are 02 Extension Centres of NIELIT Imphal at Churachandpur & Senapati Districts of Manipur. The Centre is located at Akampat, about 5 kms. in the south-east direction from the heart of the Imphal city. Spread over an area of more than 20 acres, it houses the main Institute Buildings consisting of Administrative wing, Lecture Halls, Faculty Rooms, Computer Labs, Mechanical Workshop and several labs in the field of Information, Electronics & Communication Technology. Besides the main institute building, the campus houses the staff quarters, students’ hostels, electrical substation and other host of essential facilities.

Fee Structure

Admission Fee: Rs. 5000/- (at the time of admission)

Security Deposit: Rs. 5000/- (at the time of admission, refundable)

Academic Fee: Rs. 5000/- (chargeable in every odd Semester)

Tuition Fee: Rs. 50,000/- per Semester

Exam Fee: Rs. 2,500/- per Semester

Academic Structure

The UG programmes of the University shall be based on flexible Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), multidisciplinary approach, and Multiple Entry and Exit options. 

All the programme of the University shall have well defined Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs), Programme Outcome (PO), Programme Specific Outcome (PSO) 7 and Course Outcomes (CO). 

A course shall comprise lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, field work, outreach activities, project work, vocational training, viva, seminars, term papers, assignments, presentations etc. or a combination of some of these components.

Financial Assistance

Scheduled Caste & Tribe students are exempted from paying Tuition fee & Examination fee in all semesters only once (i.e. repetition of exam/semester due to any reason the fee is not exempted) under the scheme of Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of Meity, Govt. of India. For fee exemption necessary certificate as per GOI order to be produced from time to time. We encourage all other students to   apply for scholarship from different organizations.

Training & Placement

Institute apart from organizing multiple Job Fairs every year, is also conducting counselling sessions to improve Soft Skills and presentation skills of the students. Leading Experts and Industrialists are invited for these counselling sessions to share their views.

Multiple visits of the students are arranged in leading Industries of the region so that they can get well versed with current Industrial trends. The students also get a chance to take up real Industrial issues as their project work. 

Students are also encouraged to participate in various internship programs.
