Career Development Centre (CDC) at IIT Tirupati strongly focusses on providing excellent placement and internship opportunities to students, along with a strong emphasis on year-round career development and career guidance activities. CDC acts as a platform for students to interact with industry. The CDC has a dedicated team of faculty and staff for interacting with various leading Indian and International recruiters to facilitate career opportunities to the students. A dynamic student team is an integral part of the CDC, which helps in organizing and executing the activities.
The primary functions of the CDC are
1. To invite industries and organizations of repute to facilitate employment/ internship opportunities to students and assisting them in the placement process at IIT Tirupati campus.
2. To arrange summer internships for B.Tech students after 6th semester in partial fulfilment of their degree requirements.
3. To conduct career guidance activities which aims to provide information on various opportunities available and help them to choose the one based on their interest
4. To organize career development activities such as lectures, workshops, and boot camp to enhance the skills necessary for facing interviews and to be successful in their chose career.
CDC was instrumental in placing students across 50+ leading companies. Students also received pre-placement offers from some top organizations. Some of the recruiters include Microsoft, Amazon, CommVault, iManage, Reliance Jio, Mentor Graphics, Mathworks, Versa Networks, iManage, Toshiba, TCS, L&T group, and ITI limited.
Even during the pandemic season, the 2021 graduating batch registered 100% internships this year. Some of the leading companies/academic institutions which offered internships were: Texas A&M University, University of Waterloo, TESCO, CommVault, Mathworks, Alation, Futuresfirst, Fourkites, Belcan, TCS, JK tyres, Toshiba, NIWE (National Institute of Wind Energy), Alstom, Danieli, and AECOM. The students were offered diverse and challenging roles across various domains.
