About the Institute:

             National Institute of Technology for the sunrise state of Andhra Pradesh was established as 31st NIT in Tadepalligudem, West Godavari District, in the academic year 2015-16. The institute goal is to provide aesthetically pleasing environment-friendly campus facilities that enhance the learning, teaching and working atmosphere for the stake holders of the Institute as well as an inviting and pleasant experience for the visitors.

A new campus has been established with 172.6 acres of land adjacent to Chennai-Kolkata Highway (NH-16) in the air-strip lands of Tadepalligudem. Presently the institute is fully running from the new campus.

    At present, the Institute offers Undergraduate (B.Tech.), Postgraduate (M.Tech. & M.S. (by Research),MBA) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes. NIT Andhra Pradesh has recruited 46 regular faculties to supplement and strengthen the teaching process apart from 82 young Adhoc faculties. Most of the faculties are doctorates and with excellent academic & research profile. The Institute is providing good academic ambience for teaching-learning process. The Institute has recruited 64 regular non-teaching staffs in 2019.

      The Training and Placement Section is rigorously trying for placing maximum number of students. More than 80% undergraduate students were placed in the last three years (first three batches of students), with average package of >6.5 LPA and maximum package >32 LPA.

       The Institute has adopted a mission and vision policy to become a leader in providing best technical education among the recently established Institutions. The Institute has also taken leap in R&D activities in the all the core and applied areas of engineering with emphasis on innovation and incubation of technologies. MOUs with several new industries and institutions have already been signed from to execute collaborative academic and research activities.

Rules For Change Branch:

Branch change at the end of first year is possible.Criteria for branch change, eligibility and other conditions are available on the institute website www.nitandhra.ac.in

Faculty:

NIT AP has recruited 46 regular faculties to supplement and strengthen the teaching process besides 82 Ad-hoc faculty members also serve the institute. Most of the faculty members have doctorates and NIT AP provides good academic ambience for teaching-learning process. NIT AP also recruited 59 regular non-teaching staffs in 2019.

Facilities:

Hostel Facility: All the Ist  year students, both male and female students, will be provided hostel accommodation inside the Institute premises. 

Transport Facility: Shuttle bus facilities are available inside the campus.

Medical Facility: The health center is located with in the campus and the Institute has a one full time medical officer and 5 other paramedical staff to attend the medical needs of the students, staffs and their family members. Incase of emergency individual can be evacuated to nearest State Government hospitals.

Central Library: It caters the need of e-resources as well as study and refence books to the students.

Sports and other facilities:

NIT Andhra Pradesh gives importance not only to academics but also co-curricular and extracurricular activities. NIT Andhra Pradesh is having wide variety of clubs, sports facilities & NSS unit to conduct various activities throughout the year.

Training and Placement Section is the marketing division of the institute. This section, acting as an interface between the college and companies, has maintained symbiotic and purposeful relationship with industries across the country.

As a result, it is willing to build up an impressive record both in terms of percentage of students placed as well as number of companies visiting the campus. The section hosts companies o campus and ensures that every aspirant is assured of a bright career of his/her choice.

Activities

1. Nurtures industry-institute interaction, by organizing and coordinating frequent industrial visits, inplant training and projects of industrial relevance for the students, with the sole aim o zeroing down the hiatus between the Industry and the academia.

2. The cell has in its active file a database of nearly 500 companies.

3. Helps every student to define his/her career interest through individual expert counseling.

4. Makes available updated data base and job profile of the companies and thus helps each student to analyze and choose a company of his/her interest.

5. Organizes and coordinates campus placement programs, to fulfill its commitment of a career of every aspirant.

6. Receives and forwards the feedback from the visiting companies pertinent to curriculum improvement to ensure that our students are industry ready.

Location and Accessibility:

Tadepalligudem is well connected by direct train services to most major cities of the country like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata. Tadepalligudem is the nearest railway station to the Institute on Vijayawada – Visakhapatnam main line. The new campus of the Institute is about 10 minutes’ drive (3 km) from the Tadepalligudem railway station. Private taxi or auto rickshaw can be hired to reach the Institute. 

Tadepalligudem is also well connected to Rajahmundry (45 kms), Vijayawada (110 kms) and Visakhapatnam (240 kms) by Road transport. The nearest airports to Tadepalligudem are situated at Rajamundry, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. The nearest international airport to Tadepalligudem is the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD), Hyderabad (400 kms from Tadepalligudem).
