a) Student Training Programme(STP)
The Student training programme has been organized by Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) Bhilai in association with IIIT Pune under the third phase of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-III) during 14th September – 30th October 2020 and
4th March- 29th March 2021. Student Training Programme (conducted online) was designed to be generic in nature for satisfying the needs of students and research
scholars of Computer Science and Engineering(CSE), and Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE) of various Engineering Colleges affiliated to CSVTU Bhilai), to increase their programming skills and analysis capabilities.

The faculty members of Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune were the resource speakers for the programme. Around 276 participants, including faculties, PG students and Research scholars from different CSVTU approved institutions and members from industry had participated. The programme was
coordinated by Dr Rahul Dixit, and Dr. Sandeep Mishra,
Assistant Professors, IIIT Pune.
b) Activities at Innovation & Incubation Cell (IIC)
Institute organized a 5 hours hands-on session for the students on Applied Machine Learning with Python scheduled on 24th Oct 2020.
Prototype submission from students on themes such IoT based technologies (e.g. Security & Surveillance systems, ICT, cyber-physical systems, Blockchain, Cognitive computing, Cloud computing, AI & ML etc.
For the implementation of NISP 2019,
the Institute developed a roadmap that included the following points:
● Formation of Innovation and Incubation Cell and registration of the same at MoE Innovation Cell (MIC) portal
● Formation of E-Cell and I-Cell
● Faculty nomination by IIIT Pune for NISP implementation
● Creation of Section-8 company at Institute level
c) Ideathon 2k21
IDEATHON was the first-ever flagship event hosted by the Entrepreneurship Cell of the institute, from 7th to 21st February 2021. It was for the first time that an entrepreneurship promoting event was hosted by the institute club. IDEATHON provided a platform for students across the globe to showcase their ideas and get them evaluated by an experienced jury. The main objective of the event was to promote technical and rational thinking among the students.
The registrations commenced on 7th February 2021 on an online hackathon platform -DevFolio and the portal was open till 14th February 2021 where the participants could take part in a team of 1-4 members. The event was divided into two rounds where participants
submitted the problem they are addressing and an idea to solve it
in the first round. The submissions of the first round were deeply evaluated by the jury members which consisted of:-
1. Mr. Pranveer Sengar - Director - IT, FM Logistics, Pune
2. Dr. Bhupendra Singh - Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune
3. Ms. Yesoda Bhargava - Teaching Assistant, IIIT Pune
The event witnessed tremendous interest from students across the globe. With over 500 applicants from over 130 colleges (including 30+ IITs, NITs and IIITs) in over 150 cities across 4 countries (viz. India, Malaysia, Nepal and Indonesia). Since the theme was open, the ideas ranged over various domains including a vaccine storage container, automatic cereal dispenser, online platform to educate about several diseases,
and others.
d) Startup
Umang Kalra, Final Year CSE student and his team has founded a startup in December 2020, which developed aerial robotics and automation and IoT systems in various disciplines. It has been incubated at
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology
(SKUAST), Jammu and will be sponsored by the Government of India under Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RAFTAAR) scheme.
e) Silk Route Quiz
The Entrepreneurship Cell of the institute hosted the Silk Route Quiz, an entrepreneurship-based quiz, from 19th to 21th March 2021 on Dare2Compete. The event was organized to spread awareness among students about the basics of finance and startups. Dr. Chandrakant Guled, Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune was the Faculty
Coordinator.
The event saw tremendous participation of over 400 students from more than 170 colleges and organizations across the country. Also, the quiz page on Dare2Compete had over 95000 views which was a huge success.
The results were declared on March 21th, 2021 after the All India Finals Round. Akash Verma (IIM Shillong) won the first prize and
a cash reward of ₹ 7000. Aditya Singh and Sharat Chandar won the second and third prize with cash rewards of
₹ 5000 and ₹ 3000 respectively.
f) InfInITy 2k20
It is the institute's flagship coding contest hosted every year on CodeChef. A three-hour
coding session with ACM style scoring. InfInITy started in 2017. The recent edition of the event (A Rated Contest) was held on 4th Nov 2020
with 2229 international participants and 12000+ submissions. Students from some of the renowned Universities
of the world participated. The event catered challenging algorithmic and logical programming problems for the users to solve
in a limited time of 2.5 hrs and battle for the prize pool of INR
15,000.

g) 75th Anniversary of Independence
Prime Minister of India, Shree Narendra Modi on 12th March 2021 inaugurated 'Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' in Ahmedabad to mark 75 years of India's Independence. The Mahotsav is a series of events to be organised by the government to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence. Prime minister also launched
various other cultural and digital initiatives for the India@75 celebrations. In this context
EBSB Club of IIIT Pune in association with EBSB Club of IIIT Trichy organized two online expert lectures on
12th March,, 2021. More than 130 students and teachers from IIIT Pune and IIIT Trichy attended the event online. The speaker invited by IIIT Trichy was Prof. R. Gururaj, Associate Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, NIT Trichy who delivered a lecture on the theme entitled:- “Unity of Purpose”.

Pune was the speaker for the event. He delivered his speech on the theme entitled:- “United We Stand & Divided We Fall”. Dr. Chandrakant
Guled, Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune was the event coordinator.

h) Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB):
EBSB Club Activity was held under the programme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)” by MHRD in IIIT Pune on 27th May 2020
online. In this event students were taught words and sentences used in
day to day conversations in the Tamil language (Paired State Language), a Tamil conversational act was presented and later explained in English.
i) 400th
Prakash Purab Samaroh
EBSB Club of IIIT Pune in association with EBSB Club of IIIT Trichy organized an online essay writing competition on 31th March 2021 on the Biography of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Top three essays
won a cash reward of ₹
1,500, ₹ 1,000
and ₹ 700 respectively. More than 53 students and teachers from IIIT Pune and IIIT Trichy attended the event online.

j) Other Events organized by the Students

● Code Chronicles 1.0: IIIT Pune's 𝐁𝐢𝐓 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, along with IIIT Bhopal's 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞, organized 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬𝟏.𝟎, the first of its kind unique coding event organised by 2 IIIT's in collaboration with each other on 19th June, 2020.

Fundraising Campaign organized by the student’s body of IIIT Pune, during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Month of April and May 2020. Online events, quizzes and games were organized for the same and the registration amount collected was transferred to the PM Cares Fund. Celebration of Important National Events
a) Yoga Day
International Yoga Day was observed on
21st June 2020 by arranging a motivational session and demonstration of Yoga by Mr Gaurav Jain, Founder trustee of
Vinyas Yoga Studio, Gwalior. Faculties, Students and
staff attended the online session and practiced various yoga postures.
b) Constitution Day
Constitution day (Samvidhan Divas) was celebrated on
26th November 2020 to honor the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26th November 1949.
The Director, Faculty, and Staff took the pledge and
read the preamble of the constitution.
c) Independence Day
The institute celebrated the flag hoisting ceremony on Independence Day with Trinity Academy of Engineering College in 2020.
d) Republic Day
The Institute celebrated the flag hoisting on Republic Day at the campus.
e) Hindi Pakhwada
Hindi Pakhwada was organized from 14th to 28th September 2020. The programme started
with a painting competition. Various competitions were organized for the students in collaboration with Hindi Samiti, whose names are as follows along with their organizer:
The organization of these various competitions gives a new direction to the promotion of the state language. Hindi Pakhwada was made very popular due to the enthusiastic participation of the students in all the competitions. In Hindi Pakhwada, more than 50 students participated in various competitions. The
faculties in Hindi cell Prof. Ritu Tiwari, Dr. Chandrakant Guled, Dr. Bhupendra Singh, Dr. Rahul Dixit, and Dr. Anagha
Khiste supervised the events.
f) National Youth Day
National Youth Day was observed on
12thJanuary, 2021 by organizing a motivational lecture online for faculties and students on the theme entitled:- “The Message of Vivekananda to Youth”.
Webinar focused on Swami Vivekananda’s great journey;
his work towards the Nation and society; and his message to the youth to be a
good citizen of India.
Prof. Varadraj Bapat, Professor, Finance and Accounts, IIT Bombay was the speaker for the event. Dr. Chandrakant Guled, Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune was the event coordinator.
g) Parakram Diwas
Parakram Diwas was celebrated on 23rd January, 2021 by organizing
a motivational lecture online for faculty and students on the theme entitled:- “Dedicated
to the Nation: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose”. Webinar focused on
Netaji's historical journey, his work for the Nation and society and
learnings from Netaji as a student.
Shri. Shrikant Joshi, History Convener, Demos Humanities & Research Foundation, Pune was the speaker for the event. Dr. Chandrakant Guled, Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune was the event coordinator.
h) International Mother Tongue Day
International Mother Tongue Day was observed on 21st
February, 2021. The institute organized a motivational lecture online for faculties and students on the theme entitled:- “Mother Tongue & Culture”.
Webinar focused on the importance of Mother Tongue in
a person’s growth. Mother tongue is also crucial in enhancing critical thinking, skills to learn a second language and literacy skills. Dr. Prashant Sathe, Professor, BMCC College, Pune
was the speaker for the event. Dr. Chandrakant Guled, Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune was the event coordinator.
On February 22, 2021, a Poetry Competition was organized to celebrate International Mother Tongue Day. Prof. Om Vikas, Ex-Director ABV-IIITM was the chief guest on the second day of International Mother
Tongue Day celebrations. Prof. Om Vikas, in his talk, explored points such
as the importance of meditation, how students can contribute
to nation building. Students were made aware about the personal lives of many research scientists who were successful in their lives.
A poetry competition was held. Top 20 poems were selected and among those,
top 3 poems were awarded.
i) International Women’s Day
Institute celebrated International Women's Day on
8th March, 2021 by organizing an online
motivational lecture on the theme entitled:- “Awakened Women's Power”. Women’s empowerment is the most crucial for the overall development of a country. Mrs. Bageshree Manthalkar of
Surajya Sawarngin Vikas Prakalp, Pune
was the speaker for the event. Dr. Chandrakant Guled, Assistant Professor, IIIT Pune and
Ms. Yasoda Bhargava, were the event coordinators.
j) Relief to COVID-19 affected people
Two programmes were launched by the institute
● Job for Migrant and Local Workers:
The institute provides jobs to the migrant and local workers even during the time of the pandemic with safe shelters for them. We are also ensuring social distance and all safe practices to be followed by the workers. They are working for the building construction of the campus at Nanoli, Pune.
● Help to Underprivileged Areas:
Our faculty and staff members are actively donating food packets to the poor in the underprivileged areas and needy in the ongoing pandemic. They are also educating the public on how to effectively prevent the spread of the virus.
● Donation to the PM Cares Fund
Staff and faculty members of the institute donated two days' salary. Rs.1,51,051 was collected and donated to PM Cares fund to fight against COVID 19.
